Does your laundry no longer smell fresh after your vacation?

Hi. We were on vacation and didn't do laundry for about two weeks.
When we washed our vacation laundry, we noticed that while it didn't smell as fresh after washing, it definitely didn't smell as fresh as we're used to. You can still smell some of the sunscreen and deodorant on the clothes. Even the swim trunks still smell of chlorine. What could be causing this? I even used extra detergent for the second load and washed the towels at 90 degrees Celsius in between, but there was no improvement.
