It is probably mainly due to the preferences of the respective American (who does not like fish, will have no joy with the best fish dish). In addition, there are countless regional kitchens in Germany, and of course you want to present them. I had a recent visit from the USA. The lady just wanted to eat a little bite in a cozy place. She chose a marinated lukewarm calf head and was thrilled. Another American might have rejected this wonderful court. Taste is very individual.

If that stuff comes from the cliché.

Or coarse sausage, in any case beer.

Alternatively go shopping with him or let him look in your fridge. Americans are usually very experimental and want to try a lot of what they don’t know.

Never forget the visitor who took the bread zentimeterdick with Mortadella. And he painted several layers of it with the sharp lion’s mustard. He didn’t spoil a miene during enjoyment.

“Our” Amis celebrated that they planted red cabbage in their garden, cook it to Uromma’s recipe and cook it for frying, sometimes roulette, or even wild goulash (even moose because they live up in the north) as feasts:D
Sauerkraut with Kasseler also arrived well, just like potato salad.
Also “evolved” is our Hefestreusel.

Some are genetically prestressed: Grandma’s sister and her husband were Germans

The beef rouladen! But also a pork roast and a cassel with sour wort.

“German Braten” is a special memory for many Americans who were once in Germany. The same applies to our selection of bread and sausages.

On the other hand, with grilled one gets hardly any impression: The Americans can do better!

Beer – now yes, often the German beer will appear too warm to American friends, on the other hand they begin to be happy after the third party. An American friend once said, “Oh, you know – Germany: Warm beer but hot cars!”

There are many things:

  • Krusten-Schweinebraten with dumplings
  • Pigshaxe with dumplings
  • White sausage with beer and bread
  • Slaughter plate with blood and liver spice, sour wort and potato puree
  • of course also Rindsroulade
  • Cheese parrots
  • Koeniger Klopse
  • Nuremberg, Thüringer Bratwürscht

Americans are often very ignorant and only know the clichès of other peoples. So, in order not to disappoint the Amis, I would take something that they think is typical of German. dumplings, sauerkraut, pork roasts.

My niece made an au pair year in Denver and was seriously asked if she had already eaten tomatoes.

I’d make it dependent on the region where we’re staying. In Bavaria I would hardly recommend a brick soup, but rather something other regional.

Definitely Döner.

With everything.

It’s probably about presenting him something typical of German. And “vegan” is not typical in any country in the world. No, not in India.

Typical German dishes can “man” – usually – excellent “veganize”…

Of course you can, then they are no longer typical.

In America, the number of vegans increases considerably.

So, all the more unnecessary, bringing vegan dishes to an American. Eulen to Athens.

Yes, if you always spread the same “message”, it would be amazing if the reactions weren’t the same, would it?
