I assume that the vehicles are connected mechanically and electrically. However, since the electronically supported communication between the controllers of the two or more vehicles does not begin by itself, the driver of the leading vehicle, i.e. the foremost driver’s cab, must be initiated. The technical tensile data changes. Length, braking weight, mass and controls of the “hanged” vehicles must be put into the takeover mode so that all vehicles react the same. The operation and monitoring of the PZB or ETCS and the SiFa are only active in the manned leadership. The newly created train then also has to take over a new train number so that the service managers of the control units can address this train in a targeted manner.

This looks like an extension. Or wing train.

The notices that the new train configuration must be confirmed (“cocked”).

Basically: If the clutches fit and have no Parisian:

And they can automatically dome is mechanically coupled.

Electrically depending on whether due vehicles are compatible.

Stadler KISS and FLIRT can be combined in Luxembourg.

Depending on the control, a train notices when what is coupled and integrates the one in the controller.

However, this can be different from vehicle to vehicle.

Here is the half-hour dome maneuver in Spiez, where it is coupled in 3 minutes and the direction of travel is changed.
