What to do?
I've been in a new job as a career changer since May 1st. At first everything was fine; everyone was very nice and warm when I introduced myself, but things have changed. At first I thought I would get along well with everyone, but that's not the case. Now I get up in the morning with an uneasy feeling and as a result I don't enjoy my work because I feel too intimidated by my colleagues. I'm also introverted, which is another problem. I think it shows. I tried to overcome my introversion at first, but it didn't last long. As of today, I don't feel comfortable in the team. I thought it was probably due to the training period; you have to ask a lot of questions and then you get annoyed quickly. But I don't want to do anything wrong, so I'll ask twice. I don't see a future for myself there, although I'd like to gain experience. Would you try to talk to the manager first and ask if he would let you go? However, if he proposes a termination agreement, I'll be blocked from the employment office. What do you recommend?
I advise you to give you and your colleagues time, because your negative feeling probably has nothing to do with your colleagues, but is simply due to your own self-insecurity. Why give up? What would you have? Is that how it goes on at every place?
You just have to play on each other, that’s not going from this morning.
“What do you advise me?”
Let’s show some stamina. You’re here two weeks. If the situation is not unbearable, give you and colleagues time to find themselves as a group. Also an experience you have to do: that things need time.
Talk to your prerogatives. If not successful, look for another job and/or if necessary leave you sick.
You should not sign a cancellation contract.
After two weeks, you will be in the beginning of the knowledge phase. Since it is certainly not a solution. It is important that you listen well when you answer and don’t make your requests multiple times without trying to do your job.
You’ve been there for two weeks. That’s why I’m very curious. Some people, including me, can be well distracted by a working environment.
So I’d advise you to at least try reasonably to deal with people and work.
You must have a trial period. Otherwise, just decide later whether the Job/the AG is the right one and then look again for the conversation and think about the topic.
That would be my opinion and my proposal.
Put the asses together for a few months and wait for the trial period. They don’t exist for free, because six months are a completely normal period to get into a job.
It would certainly be profitable to work on your contact skills, otherwise you will get the same problem in the next job.
With no word you have described what problems there are, you only tell of your own feelings.
Go to the problems and call them
You’re here for a few days… a little more time you should give yourself and others
