Was the problem with the CPU (please read the whole text)?
First of all, my specs:Mainboard: b450m-k
So, my boyfriend offered me a Ryzen 7 5700g. He replaced the CPU because his PC kept shutting down after a while, but he didn't know what was wrong, so he couldn't tell me whether it was the 5700g. He wanted to sell it, so I installed it in my PC and it worked at first, but then my PC started rebooting out of nowhere every 40 minutes (crashed, but didn't shut down).
After that, I updated the BIOS, but nothing worked after that. The PC rebooted every 30 seconds; it couldn't even finish booting.
So, I put my old 3400g back in and it worked again.
Now I want to order a Ryzen 7 5700x. Do you think it will still be like this?
PS: I cooled the 5700g with the AMD box cooler, but the temps were ok.
LG and happy new year
I don’t think it’s the CPU.
If the BIOS update was successful, you should still select the default settings.
If the Pc starts out every 40 minutes, you can assume that there are either RAM errors or errors in Windows that let the Windows crash at the end.
The one CPU defect is just the 5700X, is simply too rare and therefore unlikely.
If you want to buy a 5700, then a 5700X3D
On the PC is and was all up-to-date,have done everything on standart, have exchanged me with pc professionals, that this is all right.RAM works, there aren’t defective drivers.
So you downloaded the latest bios for your Am4 chipset? Then there should be no incompatibility problems with the chip and your bios, “the bios were also correctly flashed”. Can the bios try to update and test again to make sure.
If the bios can be excluded, test Ram. You say Ram’s fault-free? How did you test that? Did you start Memtest86 via USB Stick and run through several times? At least 5 passes over several hours should be already.
If you can exclude this, then it is likely a defective Cpu. This unstable boot behavior and crashing I have already been able to return to defective Cpus. So if you can exclude the upper points, I’ll say 80% Cpu problem and that the 5700x should run.
Could be a problem with the IMC or the like, it is always relatively difficult to diagnose.
BIOS was loaded correctly, just like in the tutorial video by ASUS.The original version was then displayed correctly in the BIOS.RAM also works perfectly with my old CPU.I have run a motherboard speaker and a software for error reading, not.
The funny thing was, first, the PC went with the 5700g, he just crashed every 40 minutes, then I updated the BIOS and then it didn’t go any more.
