What should I do?
I bought a very old racing bike a few weeks ago (150 francs) . However, the bike still has what are known as "collé" wheels. Should I sell the bike (and thus make at least 100 francs less), or just buy new wheels (although I'm no pro at all, more of a beginner when it comes to bike repairs). What should I do now?
Use existing wheels and mount hose tires is not an option?
You can also do this with adhesive tape. Classic mounting using liquid adhesive is no longer necessary.
I let myself say that I have to change the tires every month. In addition, the assembly is too complicated and is a risk that you have to throw away tyres.
Who’s telling such a nonsense?
I’m driving on a wheel of hose tires. If you take reasonable (with proper panning protection) keep those as long as wire tires.
There are massive instructions on the Internet, probably also videos on YouTube.
With adhesive tape, the mounting of a tubular tire is not much more difficult than that of wire tires.
And how difficult is the assembly (I am a beginner)?
Drink a beer
That’s what I do.
