The frequency hopping (dt. Frequency jumping) is used for wireless data transmissions (WLAN, Bluetooth). The aim of the frequency hopping is to create a data transmission which is both insensitive to disturbances and is resistant to hearing.

How does the frequency jump process work? The idea behind this is that the carrier frequency of the signal is changed regularly and virtually randomly by mathematical methods. In order for the transmission to succeed, the receiver of the signal must know these calculations in order to select the respective correct carrier frequency.
