What are the differences between the Vespa Et2 C12, C16 and C38?

Hello everyone,

I'm interested in Piaggio Vespa scooters and would like to learn more about the differences between the Et2 C12, C16, and C38 models. Can someone explain what the specific characteristics of each model name mean? Are there differences in the engine, equipment, or design?

I'm also interested in knowing which of these models might be rarer and which is more common on the market. Does anyone have experience with the availability of these models or know the reasons why one of the models is less common?

I look forward to hearing your insights and experiences. Thank you in advance!

The ET series never really interested me. That is why I cannot assess the market situation. In my knowledge, the C16 was the 50 km/h version with gasifier, the C12 was the short-lived injection variant. C38 then came with the introduction of 45 km/h and was also installed in the LX 50. These are my knowledge of the models for the German market. In other countries, other requirements regarding performance and speed were applied before standardisation in 2002.
