What do you say when someone says, "Hakini helal et"?

Helal olsun I assume.

And then?

What does that mean? Something like a prayer…? I was raised Turkish, too, but…I'm more European-oriented at least. I don't even know what that actually means… haha

Can someone help me?

Helal et!

That means something like “Forgive me (and bless me)!”

This certainly refers to a request for forgiveness with God.

I think that’s the connection. Only the request for forgiveness is read from the sentence itself. Why this is said depends on the relationship that only you (and he) know. With persistent uncertainty, it is best to ask directly. This avoids misunderstandings.
