What happens when you take your foot off the gas while driving? Does the car slow down or do I have to brake?

I'm getting my driver's license soon, so I'm asking because I don't know anything about it 🙁

Of course, the vehicle is getting slower. And you will always need the brake if you want to come to a standstill. Quite often, you can also let the vehicle roll out, for example, when you reach a red light. But even here, you’ll have to put them on the brake.

Depending on the gear you have engaged, the car brakes or slows down more or less strongly. Lower gears have a stronger braking effect, and this can be used with the so-called motor brake: to insert a lower gear, and to brake by the motor instead of slipping on the brake.

So depending on how much gas you take away.

At a little it no longer accelerates so strongly.

At average, the speed remains the same

It’s getting slower

(So approximate)

You can, for example, run at a traffic light without braking. Or adjust the speed on the highway

For bigger delays, take the brake

The car will definitely be slower when you leave the gas. But of course, there’s another way to play the road. But in order to get really much slower, you already have to brake.

The car is getting slower.

If you go off the gas at a slightly higher engine speed, the engine even brings a quite neat braking effect – which is used in long downhills to not constantly have to work with the normal brake.

With predictive driving mode, you can actually often save yourself the ride on the brake pedal.

But if you really need to slow down or stop, you need the brake pedal.

If you take gas off the car, it will slow down and if you want to slow down or stop, you need to brake.

If you give gas, the car will be faster but you will of course explain it in the driving school.

the vehicle will be slower, but if necessary, the actuation of the brake pedal can also be useful if you want to stand in time or need

The same as the bike. If you stop rolling the vehicle even further, but it will slower. Brake Stops the vehicle actively. Stop giving gas stops the vehicle passive

If you don’t give any more gas, the car will slow down. But if you want to get to stand faster, you need to slow down.

What happens when you take gas away by car, the car gets slower…

Yeah.

…or do I have to brake?

Even if you want to come to a standstill.

I’m going to make a driver’s license because I don’t know.

That’s what the driving instructor says.

That’s what the driving instructor tells you.
