What happens if border officials don't let me cross the border?
Hello.
In 3 days I am traveling back to Germany from the USA with an American husband.
He was in Germany for 90 days and now we were in the USA for 40 days.
So we're trying to get him across the border with a bit of luck.
What if the border officials at the airport don't let him cross the border and he has to take the next flight back, but we don't have the money?
We are completely broke because of the purchase of the plane tickets and we wouldn't even have 100€ available if this were to happen.
What will be done at the airport then?

There are exceptions for US citizens. Why doesn’t he use it?
Then he’ll have to go back and the US Embassy will be informed and the money will go ahead. Just as a US citizen, he should be aware of how this is going on. Will be daily his country a thousand times in his name so practiced.
My assessment, you let him happen when he says he wants to apply for his title and he already has an appointment for it.
So you both know he’s not allowed to come in like this, but you’re kind of good luck. This is a very clearly wise decision.
There is a very high chance that your husband will be deported and thus an entry obstacle exists.
It would be much more reasonable if he came over at a time when he could get that back legal and if he had a visa.
Too bad about the nice money, but if he is not allowed to enter 100% safely here, it is very much cheaper if he lets the ticket expire and gets over later. the 1000 € for the ticket you get together
It would be imperative to seek a visa for your husband on the spot, to one such person as your husband, as a basic claim – the otherwise inevitable refusal of entry is at the same time a violation of foreign law and thus a potential obstacle to a later entry/an issue of a visa.
The question is nothing about the husband of FS…
it’s about the husband
But: “I travel with an American husband”
In the context, however, we have no money at the latest …
Right, my brain has made out of one of mine
It doesn’t mean it’s hers too.
This is just your subjective interpretation, but not what is in the text.
Then the message or a consulate is informed.
They’re running the flight costs.
We have the marriage certificate directly in the hand luggage. I as a German should have the right to bring my husband to the country…
no – you have no right – even not with a marriage certificate – he needs a residence permit – to apply for the German embassy in the USA – so “before” (!!!) entry to D
You have the right if you have a long stay-visa request, or wait a few months until the 180 days are full.
He can also apply for this in Germany. No problem for US citizens.
Yes, it takes about 3 months
Why wouldn’t they let him in? As a US citizen, he doesn’t even need a visa for the first 90 days. If he wants to stay longer, he needs a residence permit.
No, you didn’t. What do you think?
Americans would be in DE for 90 days per 180 days. Since he already had it, he won’t come in without any problems.
Somehow read.
The right already exists, but a visa is required.
Well, the right is for him, not for the wife.
There’s nowhere to talk about the (he-)woman of the FS. How do you get that idea?
Exactly. But she doesn’t have the right. He would have the right to enter – with the visa you mentioned.
The woman wants to bring him here?
without a valid visa he must not enter D – he is rejected and must return again that you have no money interested anyone … the bill pays the US embassy (and they will get the money back)
If the ski huts had been open to international guests even during Corona, they will certainly also take care of U.S. tourists without visa permission.
in AT the same laws apply – no visa no entry
Yes, there were also Corona rules on the paper:)
