They are trained on the corresponding locomotive variants (because you can change the vehicle variants as a locomotive driver, not simply).

This is meant by retraining, usually takes about a week. It is therefore a standard procedure. There’s also the track gauge. If it’s a new region.

And abellio is still driving.

They will have good chances to get a job at the company, which will take over the previous Abellio lines. This could be, for example, National Express or DB Regio.

In principle, drivers in the labour market are very much in demand, many railway companies are looking for staff.

Have read that the DB does not accept the training of other railway companies but must be completely reconciled when they go to DB
