What happens to ln(x)?
Hi everyone, I have another math question. I'm supposed to calculate the definite integral (left). I've been trying to use integration by parts. I've chosen f(x)=ln(x) and g'(x)=x, so far everything's fine. Now I just don't understand why ln(x) simply disappears? In other words, I don't quite understand how to get from the first (right) part of the equation to 1/2(e)^2-[1/4x^2]. Thanks in advance 🙂
