Seth McFarlane has learned a lot in recent decades. The first season did not pick me up until today, but from season 4, 5 he knew his strengths related to. Writing. (Just as Family Guy is good from season 6 as well.)

I think the magic was self-iron. At first there were stupid jokes about gays. Now there are gay jokes. Blöd explains, but hopefully understandable.

Plus, they try to stay relevant at least and occasionally take up current topics – as good as that happens when you produce in advance.

Then comes the cast: the voice actors are brilliant (Seth themselves included). They’re just bringing the punchlines over!

While both American Dad and Family Guy have really left behind in the last stalking. I think, slowly but surely the team doesn’t have good topics or jokes anymore.
