So we always ask our neighbors to look after our cats (3x a day) that has always worked well so far, we also fit on their cats. Alternatively, we also have relatives and acquaintances that could be taken care of by our animals, of course we have already regulated this before the cats are purchased and a professional catsitter for the absolute emergency.
We avoid a pension because it is very stressful for cats who are very dependent to reach a new environment then likely to be within ears of other cats that is not pleasant and very stressful for such animals, for old or sick animals such a stress can also have a negative impact on health, which is why it is better for them to have someone who comes past.
These things should be planned, of course, before the cats are purchased, and different possibilities should be cleared and then regulated at an early stage, especially as guesthouses do not always have room, especially on the last pusher and with bad luck you have no one and you have to leave or postpone the holiday.

If you have no relatives/knowns/friends who can do this, you can also give the animals in an animal board and they will take care of the animals. You should book it early, as they are often completely occupied and therefore have no seats.

We always do this within the family & friends and plan it in the long term with it always someone is there who cares about the animals.

Animal board if you don’t know any other people.

Just googlen and ask.

Or just take home and take cat. For example, the campsite.

You can give the cats to relatives, so I always do.

Or workmates who have experience with cats.
