An animal clinic is usually larger, better equipped and can examine things more complicated, cover a larger field and therefore also perform other operations.

A veterinarian actually only covers basic care, such as general studies, etc.
An animal clinic is more like a hospital for animals.
There are clinics with specialist personnel or specialist departments in veterinary medicine such as clinics for internal medicine, have specialist personnel for dermatology, physiotherapy etc. they are usually larger, have more possibilities in treatment etc. They cover a greater range of veterinary medicine.
In case of problems that a veterinarian cannot detect or acute emergencies, an animal clinic is the best point of contact.

In practice, standard investigations are made. In a clinic, symptoms of profound addiction. Here not one veterinarian does everything, but several veterinarians have their special area. Like the hospital. If the animal is heart disease, it is a cardiologist, it has visual problems to the ophthalmologist, with major problems to the skin doctor. The pet doctor has neither the possibility of special examinations nor the necessary knowledge.
