Hello,

The birdhouse must be raised on a free surface on a pile so that the cat cannot slip unnoticed.

I also find it sad that the cats that are held will only kill for fun and eradicate whole species. But you can’t do anything against the cat.

Birds and cats that doesn’t fit together.

In the end, the cat always wins.

Either the neighbor gets his cat off or you stop attracting the birds by feeding.

Best both – then nature would be best served.

Best regards

Nothing.

It is a way of behavior created by nature.

Buy a hamster 🐹 if you have a problem with it.

But it is not natural that there are so many cats on a pile. This is done by human action. The cat does not kill for necessity, but for fun and that is the problem.

On Facebook there is the group “Rund um die Wildvogelhilfe”, you can contact this group and ask for it.

  • Let cats in;o)
  • Blade collar at Vogelhaus-Fuß
  • Birdhouse hanging higher…
  • …and better hang than put…
  • as far as possible from possible cover for the cat…

Lock in.

In order to protect the hooded lizards endangered by extinction, cats are no longer allowed to leave the house in our district until the end of August.
This also applies to the next 3 years from April to August.

There’s a brave landlord who dared.

Not all of them.

But you can actually show owners of free-running cats.

I know the situation. An older couple also had a cat that regularly cleared bird nests in the garden and then “played” the birds. At some point, I said they were supposed to leave the cat in the apartment, or “maybe to hit her.” But that was after I told them at least three times about the behavior of the cat. Once I put a dead little bird in their hands.

After that it was good. But they were clear – you can’t expect that in general.

  1. Please do NOT feed the birds with bread if you want them to survive. Bread is unfit for birds.
  2. You can’t do anything against the neighbor’s hangover. He’s allowed to run outside. You can politely talk to the neighbor if he might want to hang a bell (on a suitable protective collar with a predetermined breaking point). If he doesn’t want it, you have to accept it.

You won’t be able to do much. Please don’t tell the neighbor that he’s supposed to hang around the cat. Can become a prisoner if he’s stuck somewhere.

Maybe watch relaxed and keep a water spray ready. Going towards birdhouse, zack water shower…
