The driving licence of the AM class also allows you to drive small motorcycles and mopeds that, due to older regulations, drove faster than the 45 km/h in force today.

In the Federal Republic of Germany, a maximum speed of 50 km/h was applied to vehicles of this class from 1986 to 2000. You can also drive these vehicles with AM. The same applies to the small motorcycles from the former GDR with a maximum speed of 60 km/h.

No, these vehicles are allowed to drive as fast as specified.

This is what they see on the basis of the type approval, which maximum speed applies to the vehicle.

Fits exactly nix, Tacho always softens about 5kmh from the real speed so it’s only real 45.

How do they know if you don’t drive faster than 45 km/h?
