I like the movies where he doesn’t play the typical Rühmann roles. Films like “The Fire Pliers Bowle” or “The Three of the Tankstelle” are not so my case, because I was born too late for this 30s/40s of humor.
In my eyes, the problem with the fire pliers bowle is that it has simply been badly implemented. Films like “Great Freedom No.7” (1943) with Hans Albers or “The Lost Son” (1934) with Luis Trenker are older than the fire pliersbowle, but are more modern due to their aesthetics. In the case of the fire pliers, the sound is not good, etc. That’s why I just remembered him badly.
