Servus,

There are 2 different possibilities.

1. In art, there are series of images which represent different images as a great work of art, for example, each image could have partial sections of a landscape and if one hangs them at the right distance from one another they give a great whole. Or an image is split as here:

Two. What your teacher probably wants from you, several pictures that are shown directly behind each other and represent an action. For example, picture one sees a boy and a girl, picture 2 gives the young girl a kiss, picture 3 rubs the young the roasted bake before painful.

Wouldn’t a three-part picture be a triptych?

Jup, that would be the technical term.

There are several ways to make a picture series look very different.
On the one hand, a series of images can be created which belong together thematically, since one has quite a lot of space in the topic, such as ships, flowers etc.
For example, you could make a ship in the port, one on the sea and one sunken, or simply an old sailing ship, a modern ship, etc.

This is usually meant as a series of images:

Or something like this, but these are usually referred to as triptych, one knows, for example, of these foldable altars with 3 pictures, for example in churches.

A series of images could show a tree. Spring. Summer. Autumn. (Winter)

She could show a street. Before the Rush-houer, in her, after evening.

If I launch the image search for the keyword “image series” and take the explanation of Wikipedia to it, then you are very free in your choice of motive. Probably the “field” is to you, on which you are supposed to be too big and unrestricted.

A technique, three (similar) motifs
A motive, three techniques
A picture, three color versions
An object, three times (states, construction sections, manufacturing steps, …)
A motif, three cuts
A place, three views (place replaced by motif, building, mountain, object, …)

Now, if you “speak” three views of the same motif on a canvas, then you are quite close to cubism.
