What kind of beetle is this?

Hi.

I have atopic dermatitis and, as a result, excessive dandruff loss. I haven't been home for a while and haven't cleaned before. Now I've seen this creature (a few of them) under my bed… is it dangerous and what should I do?

Thank you and happy new year

Unfortunately bad to recognize, but it could be the larva of a bacon beetle – Images here be.

Whether it’s from wool-flowered beetle, common bacon beetle, carpet beetle or another from the clan, it doesn’t matter because:

These larvae feed on textiles, wool fabrics, mattresses, upholstery, feathers, carpets, foods and some more – make them unusable for us.

That’s why you should look for more larvae.

Here targeted:

  • in bed, bed frame, mattress, pillows and blankets
  • on and under carpets, also edges and strips
  • in the wardrobe, also in the edges, corners and ridges
  • on garments, furs and other wool materials
  • Dry food for pets
  • protein-containing foods

Wash at least 60° or freeze for a few days.

Soils suck very well, here also the edges and strips do not forget, because these larvae are masters in hiding.

Dispose of infected food outside the house

This depends on months up to a year, but in the house this often goes faster.

Of course, it would help much to wash or freeze everything in the room if nothing else is found in this room. Eating on textiles would only be the larvae, the bugs themselves not.

Since they were found under the bed, you should take your bed apart: raise mattress, search there and gneau. Should carpet lie, also look closely here and not overlook the edges and corners.

🤢😂

We create it! 👍🏽 Even without edgy-soaked walls!

Uiuiui, the spicy but rigorously muffle then 😂

We have to stick together, right? 😉

Don’t worry so much, because that’s not good in your case. I know what I’m talking about. I’m sure you can bake it.

If you don’t, you can still get a professional.

Come on, head up! Speck beetles have many people at home and they are not the worst thing that can happen to you. There are other Viecherl. ;

You can. It’s not poisonous, and if it’s done, it’s not dusting anymore.

Very welcome

It doesn’t have to be so plentiful. There’s a thin layer.
And as I said, please be careful when it comes out and don’t drink it. You must have some FFP2 masks lying around – take them and still keep distance from the fine powder.

Okay, then stick the right 😁

Good luck and above all no panic!

You’re not disturbing, we’re here for this. :

Parquet actually laid on carpet?? Oha.. If this is really parquet, please watch the oil so you don’t damage the wood.
I would therefore rather leave it on wooden floors and bring out kieselguhr at the edges, ridges and corners. (Please be careful, because you shouldn’t breathe!) The larvae rub on the pebbles in the truest sense.
You mean Neemöl, right?

I wouldn’t get out of here. You can still do that if there is no success at all. But you can’t say that yet.

You are welcome.

You really do everything right, it’s not better. And so I’m also sure you’ll get that under control quickly.
The roof / roof floor could actually be the solution.

So a good new year for you!

40° is not really good, but better than nothing. This would also offer freeze. Take out again, freeze again, two/three times.

Putting, sucking and wiping is really good, because there are still many people who would be overlooked. Maybe the next few days more often than usual.

What would be offered would be Kieselgur:

(Give it also in other forms)

However, one should know where the “source” is, so where they come from. But that would not be different to those who have a relatively small use radius. But that really only when two/three weeks after the cleaning and washing action more and more are coming up. Often, after such operations, rest is still again.

And turn the heating up again, because freezing and getting sick should not be necessary. ;

Other

In any case, I would wash those that are in the immediate vicinity.
