I guess it’s rose beetle larvae. To distinguish them from maize or june beetle larvae, there is a simple trick: put on a relatively flat surface. You’re gonna try to get rid of it. Turn to the abdomen (feet by unde), they are corn or june beetles. Turn on your back, be it rose beetles.

If they are particularly large, it can also be rhino beetle larvae. I have them every year in my composhaufen.

Constrictions. So Maikäfer Larven. They feed on roots, no matter what grows there, will now be broken.

These are constrictions – i.e. maize larvae. They eat the fine roots of the plants.
