B. Frankreich.

was denkt ihr?

Hey,

Also disappointed. For the same reasons as you, in addition to the whole drama around Isreal and the Netherlands. I also knew exactly what you meant with the performances. Porn and men without pants do not belong to a contest that once was considered a Grand Prix!

But I’m happy with Nemos’s victory, because I liked the song. I found France boring.

It becomes more and more a show event and is no longer a pure singing competition, where only the voice is important. Since it is about opinions on music and at the same time about competition from competing countries, competition has always been purely subjective of evaluation.

Austria had a very pleasing song at the start, that is not analyzed and well audible, but also not noticed. The second last place is not justified by the distance.

Armenia had a beautiful song with interesting folk elements with a very good YouTube clip. The live performance was not so great, which certainly cost points. The music from Estonia with the unusual instruments was interesting. The clip is a skillfully implemented show of music, the live performance was weak and cost points.

France was the only country with conventional music as it was in my childhood (60s). I thought it was old. It’s a lot, however, and who likes Schlager/Chansons chose him.

The song of Switzerland had an interesting total park. A colorful bird with vocal violence that has an unusual vocal volume and has even sung live better than in the studio recording of the clip. In addition, an impressive show where I was amazed, as he had the strength to sing so concentrated with so much action. The more often I hear it, the better it gets. This is a sign of quality.

The song of Croatia was most rocky and reminded of the genre of Ruslana. The overall package was right. I also liked the singer from Ukraine.

The ESC is not a hit/chanson competition anymore, but a music competition and I find it completely okay. Unfortunately, this is always subjectively coordinated and does not seem to change, otherwise the interpreters would have to appear without the name of the country for which they are entering and that should not be known in advance. I guess that’s not feasible.

Here the winner title again, because I just like it https://youtu.be/_DqP-Xdj3jk and here a song from him in Swiss German https://youtu.be/mUbeK-cTFUs

The quality of the songs was usually more than medium.

I’m with you – a lot of medium and below, at least musically. Almost no wow moments.

After all, the new commentator has introduced quite well.

I am even Swiss and live there and can totally not understand how this Nemo has won. I cannot even call this song as a song, so terrible I find it 😅🥴 naja. The tastes are quite different. I also have a strong feeling that he has also been chosen majority because he is non-binary so that this topic is even more brushed.

I had to explain to my 93-year-old dad what is non-binary at all. Then he says, “So gay, yes?”

Eurovision 2024 was really good!

Songs were mid to bad

Ukraine, Georgia, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Armenia,… did they really not like?

Performances were partly mega embarrassing

What and why?

Concreteizations are always desirable!

In the end, Switzerland won, although I think there was better, for example France.

Switzerland won only with the help of the jury!

When it comes to the audience:

  • Croatia 337,
  • Israel 323,
  • Ukraine 307,
  • Switzerland 236,
  • France 227,
  • Ireland 136,
  • Italy 104,
  • Greece 85,

etc.

There are no general criteria for good or bad music, so this is completely subjective. You cannot decide on others

You can’t say you found Estonia, Austria, Serbia and Greece well.

Besides Serbia and Estonia, I found them all well.

Finland for obvious reasons, Great Britain for obvious reasons, Estonia…for obvious reasons

Yeah, I didn’t like the three countries either.

Even if it doesn’t completely reveal you, it’s always better to concretize. Otherwise, misunderstandings arise.

Looked for the first time this year and didn’t do that to me anymore. Unique last time I’m looking at this

You’re making it too easy.

I as a long-term ESC professional can give you tips!

Just because you didn’t like the 1 year, it doesn’t mean everything’s bad.

See for example 2018. A very strong year. Or the two semifinals of 2024. There were many beautiful songs you couldn’t see in the finale.

Also a big mistake:

One time listening to the songs is far too little to form an opinion.

For example, I had not liked Spain for the first paintings – and the more you hear it, the more you appreciate it!

Maybe after many times you will hear more songs find better!

Give the ESC another chance

Why are you so excited? Of course, the event is not the same. The world develops and thus also events. I think you’re exaggerating a bit. Let people just as they are, whether they are non-binary or something else.

Hi.

So I’d say. France this year not so good, but there were definitely better songs. I found Germany all right this year. Hammer is still tuning a Tüpischer Radio song. Thank you. But performances like the Of Ireland, Croatian,Portugal or Ukraine I found enormously good. Congratulations to Switzerland.

I hope for a better esc next year, but by then it’s still a bit.

I was neither impressed nor disappointed. There were some songs I really liked, see Croatia, Latvia and Estonia. I think that Nemo has rightly won, as I think he has a very stark voice, but the rest was very sobering and nothing special, such as England. It is also often no longer about the song per se, but more about the performance, see Finland, who were naked on stage.

Yes, France was very good, but Israel’s song was also very beautiful…

…the rest, well goes so, some bad things were already there (Ireland)😂

tanztrainer1

As I appreciate it, it has long been that the songs rarely had a higher level. This is often seen by the fact that even the winning titles are not very successful in the charts.

In addition, well-known artists used to perform.

For example, in the 1960s, I had also liked some songs that landed quite far behind.

For decades, I have not looked at the whole spectacle.

The same as every year before: an occasion that you could save yourself because it is a political event long ago. I don’t care about it. I don’t have to consume it.

You don’t have to consume but pay indirectly.

In the case of what the state finances with taxpayers’ money, an ESC is unlikely to fall into weight. I won’t even open my mouth if I don’t like the ESC. With us in Switzerland, the road is also financed by tax money, but not everyone drives by car on the highway. I see that very relaxed.

That was some of the top class garbage. There’s a guy in the rack, just ridiculous. Most of the candidates really don’t have a vocal voice. This is nebulized by the music being very loud and distracting the show effects.

Quality looks different. The ESC’s just a slap.

What do you think of Eurovision this year?

The same thing as always: Huge show, lively theatre, musical but rather gloomy. What song of the last few years can anyone remember?

A threatening movement? The last thing I’ve read was Saturday night that he showed only aggressive behavior, that was not put in any way. 😵 Thanks for clarification, will keep me informed.

The times of Abba and Johnny Logan, of Celine Dion or Joy Fleming are long, very long over!

Then consider what rank Joy Fleming landed: on the 17th.

There has always been politics in the game.

tanztrainer1

I liked it too. The decisions have always been politically coloured.

I often liked songs that still gave a little of their traditional music and not the mainstream murks.

For example, I liked the song André Heller had composed. And that ended up in the last place.

Krawallbotz

Sure, but the song and her voice were great… she just had something to say, the song had meaning and a content.

The exit doesn’t surprise me. The EBU explains all the time that Poltik has nothing to look for at the Song Contest, but it is one of the most Polish events.
