Especially with the plan to shut down ATMs and abolish cash, it seems to me as if the idea is to convince people to do without cash altogether. And also to scare them into becoming more dependent on ATMs.
I still have an old postal savings book with a 4 DM entry from 1964. My parents set it up for me back then and apparently forgot about it over time. Why so little money was deposited is a mystery. Is this savings book still valid?
