What do you think of the poem?

Many have already attempted

to start a completely new life,

to value it highly afterwards,

to continue his old one again.

(The author of this little poem is Eugen Roth, but I don't know for sure.)

Some of them have been involved,

to start a whole new life,

to appreciate it afterwards,

continue his old one again.

This four-liner describes what happens at the beginning of the year when many of their artistic intentions are so slow to sacrifice and drop to the everyday trot.

In it, the return to normality is especially beautifully expressed – and not even soo resigned!

I would also like to know the author….! 🙂

** Thank you for the award! **

The term ‘spirit’ came to my mind today – it also applies well to the poem! Greetings!

That’s true sometimes. That’s true sometimes!

That’s the point! Eugen Roth is known for these little philosophies.

To lay down old or bad habits and to replace them with new ones does not go from today to tomorrow. If you want to achieve too much change at once, you almost automatically fall back into the old behavior patterns. Learning new or accustoming to one another costs strength. Our brain prefers to choose the more comfortable way and stays with what it is used to. Therefore, it is always sensible to integrate the new into everyday life and thus into (new) life in small steps

Not every change is positive especially if this brutal, unthinkable and much pure self-interest etc are carried through without paying attention to what impact this could have on other people, the extended environment and the environment

Just as little as some old behavioral procedures always adhere to stringently, without even taking into account other views which would bring an improvement.
