What does this metaphor mean?

What do these 2 verses mean?

I would have the best birds in the world

To wake you at dawn

It is from the poem “ I want to be this birch” by Ivan Goll

I want to be this birch

That you love so much:

I would have a hundred arms to protect you

One hundred green and gentle hands

To caress you!

I would have the best birds in the world

To wake you at dawn

And to comfort in the evening

In the hours of summer I could

Spilling under petals of sun

In my shadow I wrapped the night

Your anxious dreams…

I wish I were this birch

At whose feet they will dig your grave

And those with their roots

will still embrace you

The awakening through the singing of the birds is a very gentle awakening with beautiful, pleasant impressions, very melodic, very peaceful, not as sudden and pressing as with an alarm clock. That’s what lyrical me wants to do. A declaration of love early in the morning.

Have you never been awakened by the vigel song? Amseln in spring are impressive.

Too bad, maybe you’ll get it in a park if the traffic noise doesn’t overtone it, but should get up early.

This means the same as in this song:

He always wants to be there for her from the first moment of the day.
