Maximum speed / speed limit: You can’t drive anymore.

Directional speed: it would be nice if all only drive 130 .. but .. it is also allowed to drive more..

Hello,

the target speed of 130 km/h on German motorways can be Recommendation and not as a duty.

Most cars have the lowest consumption in the 5th and 6th gear at about 70 km/h. If you drive slower or faster your fuel consumption will increase again.

There is the directional speed so that traffic is as liquid as possible. Especially on many highways, a jerk-like braking quickly leads to a great congestion.

In addition, the target speed is also interesting for overtaking maneuvers. If you drive slower than 130 km/h, you want to overtake and see a vehicle behind you that drives significantly faster than you should let this happen.

If you drive 200 km/h, you will have to count on other road users at any time: wrongly assess your speed and, if necessary, not long enough observe the reverse traffic.

I hope I could help you a little bit.

The target speed is not a limit. It can also be driven faster.

However, many do not know exactly what this means. There are enough idiots on the road that then drive at the top speed and then complain when others move to overtake the left road.

The speed shall be appropriate at the target speed. At speeds above 130km/h, this must also allow traffic and weather. If I see that several trucks continue to drive ahead and other cars, then I have to expect any car with 120km/h to overtake the truck column or even a truck to overtake the other truck. I can go on badly at 180km/h. Depending on the exact situation, only 130km/h would be. Approved. In rain, it should also be clear that the speed is reduced.

Directional speed 130 means you can drive faster than 130 except signs 100 or 120.

an accident at 180 or 200 does not happen, but the insurance can cross because the accident would have been easier at 130.

but applies a speed limit of 130 and then you drive 180 or faster there are points….because then forbidden

It is also intended to reduce fuel consumption, reduce accidents…

Compliance with the target speed is recommended, but is not mandatory.

There are also unlimited areas where, as the name says, you can drive as fast as you want. This applies to the German motorways. I think it’s related.

Because a certain client does not depend on the target speed.

Directional speed is not equal to what you can drive maximum

If there is no signage, there is no restriction.

As much as you control the prevailing circumstances when no sign specifies a speed limit. This can also be 200 km/h or more.

From weather conditions was to be read in the question and description nix. Even if I look exactly again. That’s what a common sense says.

If there is no signage, there is no restriction.

And be it! Your driving capacity, visibility and road conditions. If you just ignore this despite missing shield and snap as you want, you will often have partial debt in case of accidents. You can only drive as fast as you can.

§ 3 StVO stipulates that the speed must always be limited so that “the vehicle is constantly controlled”. Drivers must, in particular, adjust the speed “to the road, traffic, visibility and weather conditions as well as to the personal skills and characteristics of the vehicle and cargo”. In the case of fog, narrow roads, strong rain or wintery road conditions, it means: foot from the gas! Those who drive here inappropriately fast do not have to pay fines for speed exceeding. If there is an accident, however, in the case of unadjusted driving, a co-indebtedness is often assumed.

no, directional speed has nix to do with the maximum speed

If they all want to drive 130kmh, please. Then the problem is solved?

It was an addition I wanted to make out.
