Warum werden über New Jersey ständig Witze gemacht?

In amerikanischen Sendungen und sogar Kinderanimationen ist New Jersey ständig ein Running Gag. Als wenn der Staat schlechter als die anderen wäre, wird dieser andauernd runtergezogen.

Woran liegt das?

Who ever was there knows why.

The best of New Jersey are the bridges, tunnels and ferries to Manhattan and NYC.

There must always be someone you can fancy. This is between Bavaria and the rest of the Republic.
Between swabs and bathing etc.

“Jersey” means mostly Newark and Jersey City, so the cities are adjacent to New York City.

At Manhattan there are 80 percent white people living in Newark and Jersey.

Because of ethnic composition, you can already think that Jersey is different from NY.

Jersey is in the shadow of Manhattan. That’s why they’re the losers. Who lives in Jersey can’t afford NY.
