Why are office jobs actually better paid than jobs like garbage collector, logistician, cook, police officer, soldier?

Let's be honest, people in offices don't have to endure the smell of garbage all day, work temporary jobs, do shift work, deal with violent offenders, and risk their lives. Yet, somehow, the average office workers are usually paid significantly better. Many would probably argue that they have more specialist knowledge, but in society, it's not just about the specialist knowledge they learn in school; it's also about dedication later on. I think energetic people who have to endure completely different stresses should be paid more.

I think it should be paid more by the active people who have to bear very different burdens.

But do not see many, see the locomotive streik. Much work with shiftwork, nightwork, early shift. Always in the backside that someone jumps in front of the train to kill himself. Therefore, hardly anyone wants to do this and the train currently lacks about 3000 locomotives

They strike for better working conditions, but the understanding in the population seems to be rather low. They’re supposed to work and earn too much anyway.

There are even considerations to defuse the right to strike, so that the strikes no longer disturb companies so much.

“Müllmann” is the one who throws his garbage somewhere in nature.
You mean here a specialist for waste disposal or also “suppliers and disposers” (so the official profession).

the 0815 people in the office

are not 08/15 people, but are strongly demanded one-sided (especially spiritually) while your “Müllmann” is also physically required in addition to its mental abilities.

Many would now probably argue with more expertise

No specialized knowledge in the respective field. But does a lawyer’s help have a faint glimpse of what a dispossessor must know to do his job? Usually not.

have to withstand other loads

What you use to exclude all persons who are not physically suitable for professions where force and physical stamina are necessary. Does it mean that you want to deprive someone of a good pay, just because instead of strength, he can only offer his intelligence and thus devote himself to solving problems that cannot be solved by strength alone?

This is not to be understood as an under standing, but as an example that the argumentation can be directed by prioritizing properties in a completely different direction. And who decides what properties are worth? Last but not least, consumers through their demand….

First of all, I would like to ask you not to generalize everything.

In fact, there are “office jobs” in which lives are directly and without detours – such as a rescue and fire department, police, architects, who need to construct buildings that do not coincide with a wind blow – and so on.

But I give you the right in the sense that people who have to do the unpleasant work of this world are actually paid much too badly. The poorer the work, the poorer the wage or salary.

“Mies” is a work of course always only in the eye of the viewer. Because we can do an experiment once – and let the garbage collection strike for two weeks!!! Then suddenly everything would stink because the garbage is no longer transported away.

And only then would it be possible to see how much the waste should actually be worth 😉

… or let the nurses stumble – only for three days! People would die and miserable in their own feces!

In principle, the actual work performance is never set in relation to the actual wage/content – I am thinking specifically of the millions of seniors, supervisory boards and the like.

I can’t confirm. Many office jobs are paid lower. In addition, in the case of non-office work, additional shift or hazard allowances can often be expected.

Office jobs are often better paid than jobs like garbage man, logistics man, cook, policeman and soldier due to various factors. One of the main reasons is the higher demand for qualified professionals in office jobs that require specific skills and training. These jobs are often associated with higher educational requirements and require specialized knowledge, which leads to higher pay. In addition, aspects such as working conditions, responsibilities and potential career opportunities also play a role in salary determination.

But I also want to say: not in all office jobs you deserve more or much. The majority of office jobs are also not super well paid. You just have to ask a lawyer or people working in the administration.

Most of them won’t. The one I knew at 3000€ and more was anything but relaxed, that you can believe me. You prefer to carry washing machines XD
