Why are Italian restaurants so expensive in Germany?

I'm not talking about the classic pizzeria… although there are some that charge a whopping €20 or more for an unspectacular pizza.

No, I've noticed that Italian restaurants in Germany have generally become so outrageously expensive! A buffalo mozzarella with some bread as a starter costs €25? Some beef carpaccio costs €20 and up? Main courses with meat or fish start at €30 and up?
And these are prices before the VAT increase!

Are you crazy?

I haven't noticed such extreme price increases at other restaurants (Greek, Spanish, Asian, etc.).

Buffalo mozzarella and carpaccio are also quite different quality than what you get from average Greeks. You go to the Greeks to get the belly full of meat cheaply.

Have not seen a high Greek restaurant from the inside. Not that there is not – but compare sushi from the Japanese with China Take away.

Especially since I also strongly doubt that all Greek restaurants are operated by Greeks. I guess that’s the same as with Italian pizza bars.

Restaurants demand the prices that guests are willing to pay. This is also about fashion phenomena. ,

Everything has become more expensive in recent years and months. There are many Italians who still offer fair prices. Depending on where and how the restaurants are known, the prices are

I avoid such restaurants, there are plenty of choice even in our small town.

The Italian who wanted to have 19 euros for his spaghetti Bolognese no longer exists.

The rest has very reasonable prices.

Our Greek has also swept up neatly, but still lies in the reasonable area. The drinks are expensive. Sit more long and two more beers are really getting in. The food itself does not make a very high bill.
