Warum sieht der Zylinder an Motorrädern so gezackt aus?

Ich hab ein bisschen Wissen von Motorrädern aber verstehe irgendwie immernoch nicht warum da diese “Platten” übereinander gelegt sind und nicht einfach ein glatter “Klotz” genommen wird?

A smooth block has less surface and thus less cooling surface.

This considerably increases the surface of the cylinder. The ribs provide better cooling or heat dissipation.

This results in a larger surface. Air can increase and therefore it cools significantly better, which is also the task of these cooling plates.
