Well… 50 MBit are in the best case 6.25 MB/s. But since it can never be assumed that 50MBit actually arrives, 5-6mb/s are not bad. In addition, every internet consumer, as your PC is always as fast as possible. As soon as no one else uses the Internet, you just load 5-6MB/s

A byte is 8 bits. So:

5 MB = 5*8 MBit = 40 MBit

You can also calculate approx. 10% Overhead for TCP/IP, then you are on the go with 5-6 MB!

Because 6 MB/s correspond to 48 Mbit/s. So it’s all right.
