The million years old period is not known to the human concept of time.

The period comes when it comes, no matter what time. Since it is still today at 22:50, i.e. the 24.8., of course this also counts as today. If you want to start with the pill and you need it: you have 24 hours to take the first pill from the beginning of the period. So you can take them tomorrow.
