Why don't Formula 1 cars have tire tread?
Cars have tire treads, among other things, for road grip. But why do Formula 1 cars and other motorsports vehicles have tires without treads? What difference would it make if Formula 1 cars were to race with treads?
only in case of rain tyres otherwise you have 100% liability on the race track with profileless tires. Profile would bring nix.. Also the acceleration /brakes is totally different. These tires are often changed in the middle of the race for a few rounds..
This has more to do with the classic “car driving” nix. You only change your car tires every 50,000 KM in a new way.
There was a time (approximately twenty years ago), they drove in Formula 1 with creasing tires.
Since the profile has less rubber, which touches the floor and thus less soil adhesion. Tyres with profile are used in such races only under conditions such as rain etc.
In short, tyres without profile -> more grip in dry conditions.
No, they’re for rain.
Better soil adhesion with tireless profile.
A normal car would have better soil conservation even without a profile.
But it can change differently than F1 cars, not all tires as soon as 3 trophen rain falls.
As soon as it rains, they get the green tires with a profile
Because you have more liability on the track! You have to come forward quickly and around the curves!
When it rains on the race track, the F1 people also pull up the rain tyres with profile! Just a few seconds!
In a normal car, the tyres usually do not change as often and it takes more than 20 minutes!
The car tires are created for all weather conditions! As a rule, you only change from summer to winter tyres and vice versa – if you have all weather tyres.
But you do not change the tires when it rains or the sun shines – it is cold or warm!
You have a mistake of thinking: Without profile, you have more ground adhesion than with profile. Normal cars drive on profiled tires so that you don’t get to slingshot in rain.
