Why does cold turkey take 7-20 days?

Hello,

So I'm currently watching Euphoria again, which is about drugs and cold turkey etc.

And I was wondering why cold turkey takes 7-20 days, isn't that very short?

Can't the person just start taking drugs again afterward?

If you imagine if someone was there for years, why are 7 days enough?

So I know after that (I think) it will be treated with medication etc. but I am interested in the question

This is the time when the symptoms of the withdrawal symptoms occur and are most violent.

This isn’t the time it takes to stop being addicted. You can’t measure it after days because it’s headache and depends on the psyche of the person.

These include beliefs that are active in connection with the drug, and secondly, how strongly it is integrated in everyday life, so the likelihood of being confronted in everyday life and this challenge is mastered by the beliefs. So things like “Rauchen is fine if I only do it when I drink something on Parys,” are such traps on which you fall unprepared and fall back when you don’t realize that before.
