Why does the washing machine take so long?

Hi, I have a Haier washing machine, it doesn't matter the model. Does anyone know why a 7kg wash cycle on the preset eco program at 60 degrees, 1400 rpm with a spin cycle takes about 4-4 hours 40 seconds. An eco program I select myself at 20 degrees and 800 rpm takes 1 hour 50 seconds to a maximum of 2 hours. Why is there such a difference? The automatic load function is on in both. But with the 20 degrees 800 rpm, I get the feeling that some things still have the perfume smell and have barely been exposed to any water.

Thank you very much for the answers. I've been pondering this for a long time and just can't come up with a logical answer.

simple. At eco program 60 degrees the water is NOT heated to 60 degrees. Just over 40 degrees.

Heat water consumes more electricity than a long wash program.

The washing machine washes longer with the eco program and get the same result as 60 degrees hot water.

You save electricity, but the laundry is broken faster due to long friction.

Has been reported and proven in a TV show.

This saves electricity from perhaps 30 euros and then buys new clothes for 250€.

Great. Right?

I’m sure I’m not washing with ECO programs.

Hi.

that’s true, but it’s a bit opaque (so does it with dishwashers etc.

The secret behind this is that the machine does not heat at any price with the specified temperature, but the water with the cleaner is simply circulated / rinsed more often until the desired cleaning performance is achieved. This means that the ECO programmes need longer. The lower temperature also requires less current.

So if you want to wash with really exactly 60°, you need to take the corresponding non-ECO program. We have the same – but it really works – the washing performance is okay.

I don’t know the Haier washing machine, but the Eco programs need much longer to save energy. It’s normal.

The program that you can then choose yourself will probably be even though it means that Eco will need significantly more energy.
