Hello,

Smoke in the car can arise for various reasons.
A common reason is that the car is overheated and the cooling is no longer sufficient to regulate the temperature in the engine range.
In this case, it can lead to overheating of the motor and to a fire.

Another reason for smoke in the car can be a defective exhaust.
If the exhaust is damaged or leaked, overheating of the exhaust pipe and smoke can occur.

A leak in the fuel system, for example in the petrol or diesel tank or in the lines, can also lead to smoke in the car.
When fuel runs out and comes into contact with a hot surface such as the exhaust or the engine, smoke is generated by the combustion.

There are also other possible reasons for smoke in the car, such as electrical problems or defective components in the engine range.
In the case of smoke in the car, it is important not to go further and have it examined in a workshop. If necessary, let them tow.

Greetings

Where to look

There are many possible reasons, however, the most common one is, in my opinion, oil loss on the valve cover or cylinder head, the oil drips on the hot exhaust manifold or exhaust and squanders by what is expressed in a characteristic smell. This was the case with my cars (SEAT Ibiza 1st generation and Opel Corsa C 1.0 Bj 2001)

After torment comes fire. No more meters. Workshop or junkyard.

Exhaust gases or oil vapours then pass from the engine into the interior.
