Why do people like to insult other people's weight?
Hello everyone,
I have a question that's been bothering me for a while. I've noticed that when people want to insult someone, they often focus on their weight, even if they don't know the person well.
I'm overweight myself (about 10 kg over my normal weight), and I've often experienced in chat rooms that strangers who hear my voice quickly bring up the topic of weight. I wonder how they figure this out—perhaps you can hear it in my voice—and why this topic plays such a central role when they want to be hurtful.
For example, I've been insulted with statements like, "You'll never get a man because you're overweight and ugly," or "You'll never be able to start a family." "No man wants you." These are truly harsh words from people I don't even know personally.
Why do people think this form of insult is effective, and why do they seem to know they're hitting a sore spot with me? It saddens and confuses me.
I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic!
Thanks!
Some are just mean and nasty to others. Why can’t I say? They increase by lowering others.
Just like that, I would never say anything like that, especially since I can’t even predict such things.
Hey, I’m overweight, too, and I have seven years of bullying behind me. I would say people who are not satisfied with themselves simply try to make others down to feel better..
Because these personal insults hit most and stay in mind for a long time
You can’t insult a weight!
I know that too. So it’s overweight. Most are just immature. You have no idea how the world really works.
Don’t trust what these people say. They are usually dissatisfied with themselves and leave it to others
Some people just say what they trigger most themselves because they think that triggers others too.
If someone who has never seen you online says you’re fat and ugly, he’s probably fat and ugly.
I thought they felt that I felt uncomfortable.
I don’t know that, I don’t offend any fat people.
But I find it strange when overweight people eat as if there was no morning….
