Yeah, I was already in NYC. But I personally liked LA and SF better. Why don’t you write my tips for NY?

Cheap and good food addresses in NY: Little Italy Pizza (169 W 33rd S), Times Square Diner, Purple Thai, Playwright Celtic Pub.

For the Statue of Liberty: take the Free Staten Island Ferry. Same look as the whole Touri boat tours and instead of paying 20+ dollar pP you don’t pay anything.

The One World Trade Center is also worth a visit. Book online beforehand. It’s best.

Running along the high line, beautiful view and every lot of street type.

See if a concert is at Madison Square Garden. Unique atmosphere and experience.

Generally, I would plan pP from $50 a day. This is really just food and activities that don’t cost anything. With activities from $100 a day.

My recommendation for 1 week New York (in whatever order):

Day 1 – Tour with The Ride to get to know NY a little

Day 2 – Central Park, MET, Natural History Museum, Belvedere Castle

Day 3 – One World Observatory, Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, Staten Island Ferry, Pier 54 and when Time Wallstreet

Day 4 – Highline & Hudson River Park, Union Square

Day 5 – St Patricks Cathedral, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Centre, Times Square, Broadway

Day 6 – SoHo, Chinatown

In no case do I recommend such New York passports. They’re off.

definitely one of the city tours

we were there about 30 years ago – you could go for a flat-rate price all day long with the Touri bus on a certain route, get out, watch out, get back in and continue – we liked it very much – so we have been past Wall Street, the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center to the pier of the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and then passed by the ferry – a very nice experience later – I felt like in a sci-fi until I noticed that it is reality – I brought the film cassette with our holiday film and looked at it – I cried

Yes, I live there and in Germany.

For New York, a week is good enough for the first overview. You saw more than the usual.

New York is in its own way something very special and not to compare with other US cities. For me one of the most fascinating cities ever.

This extreme density of sights, normal New York life and cultural highlights can be found nowhere. You run from a world-famous building to the next and can explore the city under its own focus.

Maybe you’ll listen to the recommendation that you drive up at least once, make something on the water and don’t forget the subway.

To water it is quite cool to drive with the East River Ferry. These are ferries that drive certain routes around Manhattan all year round. They are less crowded than the subways and the views of the skyline are always fascinating.

Enter Wall Street and Roosevelt Island Station, explore the small island in the East River with a monument, fantastic views of the East Side Skyline and lighthouse, then go back to Manhattan later with the Tramway (Seilbahn). This is a special trip that does not make many tourists and which is also very cheap with about $6 driving costs.

Otherwise, read current event tips for your travel time. Watch this blog:

Be sure to go for dinner in “ethnic” restaurants (Tip/Trinkgeld not forgot), this is known to New York.

Rent a bike, drive around Central Park and look for the Harlem Sea.

In New York you can do a lot and look at yourself, so much that I’m just focusing on eating:

  • Pastrami sandwich

A must in New York, best of course in a place known for making a very good pastrami sandwich.

  • Fast food chains

If you haven’t been to the United States, you should try one, two or some iconic American fast food chains, because such a large selection of such small space is hardly anywhere in New York. Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC, Wendy’s, Five Guys, Papa John’s, Baskin-Robbins, Taco Bell, Shake Shak, etc. Not that you kulinarally missed something if you don’t, but I myself had often heard about these fast food chains in my life through movies, news and series that it would have been almost criminal not to do it.

  • Chinese

Of course, in Chinatown and the restaurant do not choose on the basis of the optics, but on the basis of the number of Chinese who eat in it.

  • International restaurants

No matter what you’re looking for, but whether it’s Argentine, Brazilian, Russian, Italian, French, Israeli, Turkish, Lebanese, Ethiopian, Hungarian, German, Japanese, Mexican in New York, you’ll find a restaurant for everything and read with some comments on Google, a good restaurant can be found in top quality as you can eat if you go to this country.

Have you ever been to New York?

No, I wasn’t, and I’ll never be there.

USA doesn’t irritate me at all. If North America prefers Canada.
