Uns hat es so sehr Spaß gemacht, dass wir dieses Jahr direkt nochmal gehen wollen. leider bleibt uns dieses Jahr nur noch Zeit im September und Oktober. Yes and I liked it well, even if it was definitely too cold to bathe in spring.

The Minoan culture with its palstruins, of course, is not just the Art Nouveau restored palace of Knossos https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knossos but the equally interesting, though not so spectacular Palst of Phaistos https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaistos

A beautiful old town with harbour and castle rethymnon https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rethymno there is definitely worth a trip and also the capital of the island heraclion https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraklio has a lot to offer.

Super developed cycling routes across the island. I found it good to see something just off the typical tourist centers https://www.komoot.com/de-de/guide/18694/radtouring-in-den-bergen-von-kreta

Also very nice are the gorge hikes. For me it is incomprehensible that there are tourists who mean to walk through bathing lanterns or sticks. No wonder there are bad accidents every year https://www.tripadvisor.de/Attractions-g189413-Activities-c57-t53-Crete.html

Hello, were you there in spring? Would you rather recommend flying to Crete at the end of June? Or is it too hot again?

I was there April/May. The temperature was very pleasant for cycling. In the canyon there was some shadow, but there was something too warm. To bathe I definitely felt the north coast for too cold. On the south coast there were already some people on the bath.

March/April it would probably have been even more beautiful from the blooming nature, because that was fantastic in the time in northern Cyprus, which was all blooming, for that one would certainly need a light jacket for cycling.

Real bathing weather is in July/August. At the end of June, it’s not too hot, only then will really be amazed. You could swim in between to relax.

In general, I do not feel the heat as unpleasant as in Germany in the summer.

There I was twice,- once on holiday and then on a cruise! – A holiday there is definitely worth it – there is so much to see and explore there – and also the beaches are beautiful.

More often.

The last time mainly in the southwest:

– Flight to Chania (Aito rented from airport)

– first a few days directly in Chania

– then an apartment at Paleochora (1 week)

– after a week near Plakas (in the small town of Myrthios)

– Finally another 3 days in Chania.

Absolutely you should avoid the Cherssonissos and Malia area. This is pure mass tourism.

Also the east from Agios Nikolaos is beautiful..

Yes, I did camping, hikes and excursions. The weather was still quite good in autumn.
