Heyho!

So, after all, it’s never wrong to start with a new hobby, especially if you’re very motivated. In that sense, clear, just go.

But what you say is true despite everything. Skateboards don’t like water, so no wet floors, no snow, and no rain. And this is not an optional recommendation, but something you should really stick to. Accordingly, it is true that in winter you will naturally get less to skate than in summer.

In my opinion, this is not a reason to move the start, little skate is still better than not skate at all. And you can use the time to get you some basics, and then in the summer, when the season starts again, you can start with a small “progress”.

The only thing that would speak about it would, in my opinion, be if it would demotivate you in the long term that you are not going to skate so much at the beginning of your skate career. If that were the case, wait for the summer. In all other scenarios, I would put it right at your place, and I am glad that it will only be better with the coming months.

Moin,

Good thing! If you are ready to develop your first skills, skateboarding can also be a rewarding experience in winter – naturally under covered areas or if it is really dry.

You can always practice the basics on flat, dry level.

Good luck!

Sure, it’s just cold. If there is snow outside, you should not skate on the road;), moreover, it is more slippery when the road is wet. Skate also over the winter if it is not damp outside.

But there are also skate halls, for example, as you could skate over the winter over a small fee.

In Germany, the winters are no longer as wet as they are cowardly and there is no snow. If it’s dry out, you can definitely drive. Little tip from me: Keep looking for youth centres. Even small towns often have a space if not sigar a whole hall they have specially adapted for skating when the weather is bad. Every city (small town with about 12,000 inhabitants) in my surroundings has something to skate. The ones simply have a small space with 2 ramps and a rail, and the others have built up in a barn ne mini ramp. But also know a youth center in a larger Dtadt (about 35,000 inhabitants) there the youth center has an extra SkateHalle that they have converted extra. So look around. Skate halls are perfect for entry I find because you fall on wood instead of concrete 😂

Go for it…

Because my cousin got a skateboard for Christmas at the time, the winter was also the entry time for me at the end of December. And yes, everyone here has already said – it was cold, wet and cold and I really had to fight with it sometimes easy to skate two weeks… but if you are once possessed :->

Have fun!

If there’s a lot of snow, you don’t fall so hard.
