Want to learn more about quantum physics?

Evening,

I'd really like to learn more about quantum physics. I'm currently in elementary school and am pretty good at both math and physics. I've already asked my physics teacher, and he said I can always talk to him. My question now is where to start. I've been thinking about starting with differential equations.

How do I learn best?

I think you have to deal first with theoretical mechanics, and here with Lagrange and Hamilton formalism to understand the basics of QM (Schrödinger equation, etc.) – then operate a bit of functional analysis, because the state spaces of the QM are infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces on which the classic observables are as quantum mechanical operators. In order to solve differential equations, the relevant DGLs must first be able to be set up.

Go to Volume III (Quantum Physics)

This is a very good introduction for beginners from a well-known Nobel laureate to the topic and an old classic (of course also available as a book ).

The book does not aim to give a comprehensive introduction to the topic – there are better books but are much more difficult to read. Feynman's book is mostly didactically simple class and the author understands that complex things are intuitive and (apparently) easy to bring over.

Advanced literature (eg. https://www.amazon.de/Modern-Quantum-Mechanics-J-Sakurai/dp/1108473229) may be overwhelming.
