When does a horse jump over itself?
Hey, I have a question. I'm currently jumping with a horse who isn't yet 100 percent reliable. Sometimes the horse jumps way too high, more upwards than far. Why does this happen, and, most importantly, how can I correct it? Thanks in advance for your answers <3
If horses are always held too strong, too much are gathered before the jump, and after the jump are set to the A… … so don’t jump evenly at the pace “in the river” and be allowed to stretch properly.
Spring gymnastics with rows (small (!) jumps) and independent taxing.
Thank you so much, she is very fleeing and then I always try to keep her a bit back, then I try to change that!
Above all, you should have a good trainer who leads you accordingly… because such a horse quickly loses confidence and is then spoiled.
Horses also have to learn to estimate altitudes and distances. This is the training as a jumping horse, quite simple. Not every horse can wear this so perfectly, but also a rider who is not perfectly in the movement. Then they guess.
Good, no, very good Spring lessons should help at this point, as well as further dressage work and seat training for you incl. Learning and correcting the correct light seat.
Either because they have been barbarized and thus have “gelerned” to jump higher than they have to or because they are not yet experienced enough.
In both cases and generally in any case, you need a trainer who works from the Pike on with your horse and you. Spring gymnastics, from step and trams to bars and cavaletti in alternation to rows that can be jumped through at a liquid pace, without the horse coming into the race or throwing away. This is preceded by good dressage work, which the horse puts on the help.
So I’m relatively sure she wasn’t warned because she was in front of it and wasn’t jumping so much. Thank you for the tips, I will continue to practice!
It is due to lack of training in horse and rider.
Through clean training, by horse and rider.
