When should you buy a graphics card?

Hey people,

I wanted to upgrade my graphics card but I don't know if I should get it on Black Friday or in January.

The graphics card I will get is the RX 7900 XT (750€)

Do you think that when the 8000 series comes out they will be cheaper than on Black Friday or what is your opinion?

It depends on when you want to buy the graphics card and what offers you expect.

Black Friday (end November): On this day there are often good discounts, especially on popular products like the RX 7900 XT. However, it’s not sure if the price will be exactly what you imagine as not always the biggest discounts on new cards are given.

RX 8000 series: If the new series comes in January or later, the prices of older models such as the RX 7900 XT could fall. This often happens when new models come out and the demand for older cards decreases.

Availability and demand: Availability also plays a role. If there are bottlenecks, prices can remain high, but if demand drops, prices could fall.

In short, if you want the best deal for the RX 7900 XT, you could expect Black Friday. However, if you can move it more in January, the RX 7900 XT could become cheaper when the new series appears.

My recommendation would be, Black FridayIf you want to quickly take a good opportunity for a discount on the RX 7900 XT. There are often good offers, and the card could be cheaper during this period than usual.

However, if you are patience and willing to pay for the RX 8000 series waiting in January, it could be that the RX 7900 XT will be cheaper when the new series comes to the market. However, it is also possible for prices to remain stable if the new series is not much cheaper.

Ultimately, it depends on how fast you want to have the card and how much you speculate on the possible price drop by the new generation.

The best time is always in July or August.

Now is the worst time, as the prices for components have risen steadily since September. And the next year only slowly fall off.

Yeah, mostly. But you hardly get a discount when you compare prices from summer. Therefore, summer is the best time to buy.
If you’re lucky, there’s your wish component at least at the price of the summer.

See that the prices of the 7900XT have been reduced since the beginning of the year and is currently at a favorable level. Therefore, this obviously does not concern the 7900XT. This means if the cards are available at Black Friday, that’s a real bargain. :
