When should I try to open a new account?
Hello everyone.
I have a question and hope someone can give me some useful answers.
At that time, I had opened an account at the Sparkasse and used it until six months ago.
I got into some debt when I was younger and therefore only had a credit account at the savings bank.
That all happened a few years ago. My debts have long been paid off, and my credit rating is over 97%.
I haven't had any debts for years.
I have also had a permanent job with a net salary of €2,100 for 10 years.
Three years ago, I even took out a €10,000 loan from my savings bank. Even the loan was paid off early.
Since I like to travel a lot, I wanted to convert my account to a premium account.
That means a credit card and overdraft. A credit card is essential and extremely practical when traveling. Particularly so because Sparkasse even offers travel insurance. Sparkasse told me that I cannot convert my basic credit account into a premium account. I have to open a new account for that. No sooner said than done. Unfortunately, I was refused entry. The employee at Sparkasse said it was because I already had an account. So I got a premium account from Commerzbank. Just as I wanted: overdraft and credit card. All of this happened half a year ago and I thought I'd try Sparkasse again. Sparkasse didn't even check my Schufa score, they just sent me an email saying that they didn't want to open an account with me. I know that banks can choose their own customers, but why am I being refused?
Excellent Schufa rating, creditworthy, steady job, and the €10,000 loan has been paid back. Does anyone have any useful tips?
You should not go behind a bank (or savings bank) that has made you sufficiently clear that you don’t want to have someone more than customers.
You get good credit cards (or even better) somewhere else, and if you want to be a savings bank: depending on where you live and what savings bank it is, you might be able to get a trip to a neighboring town or a neighboring county to find another savings bank that knows nothing about the decision of the first savings bank.
You should ask the Sparkasse. In any case, they seem to have bad advisors and inflexible IT if they are unable to correctly classify your current credit.
But you don’t care now, you pay your fees now at Coba and the Sparkasse has lost a good customer.
Don’t cry after them. All right, you have one now that gives you what you wanted.
I would even end the balance account at your place and switch to the new bank completely.
The Sparkasse is probably no longer interested in you as a customer.
The balance account has been cancelled for half a year.
Brav. So, moving completely completed?
You can redeem your balance account and open a premium account.
The balance account has been cancelled for half a year.
Oh, yeah. Well, they don’t want you. It doesn’t matter. You got one at the Commerzbank.
