Wann müssen kitten von der Mama weg?
Unsere Katze ist ein Jahr alt und hat vor 14 Wochen drei Mädchen bekommen.
Die Mama war von Anfang an sehr viel draußen, kam aber immer rechtzeitig rein und hat sich super toll gekümmert. Sie ist seit 6 Wochen kastriert, die Babies haben da schon voll gefressen und kommt seit ca 2-3 Wochen nur noch zum Fressen rein, schläft auch draußen und ‚haut’ nach den Babies, wenn sie ihr zu nahe kommen.
Wir haben jetzt recht überstürzt zwei zusammen abgegeben in der Hoffnung, dass es mit einer besser wird und wir zumindest eins behalten können. Zwischen der Mama und dem einen Baby hat sich nichts verandert aber die kleine zerkratzt jetzt viel was sie vorher nicht gemacht hat.
Unser Gefühl war auch die drei zusammen zu lassen.
Die Frage ist müssen wir sie alle drei zusammen abgeben oder besteht die Möglichkeit sie alle drei zu behalten und gibt es einen Weg wie es für die Mama auch gut sein kann bzw. Ist das Verhalten normal und wir müssen sie gar nicht von ihr trennen?

With 14-16 weeks the cat boys (no babies!) are driven by the cat’s mother, as they can survive independently. That’s why she bites, attackes and touches the little cats.
Thus it is not a “family” anymore, but all individual individuals.
There are no family bands among cats because they do not visually recognize themselves, at most in the smell.
Example: The unchastized “son” would cover his unchastized “mother” when mature.
Please castrify the adult cat and in best case all cat boy is vaccinated (primarily immunized), parasite-free, chipped + registered to release new holders.
With 16 weeks, the cat boys can also be neutered, whether cats or cats.
The older cat, besides castration, also ground-immunization, can be tested for FIV & FelV and escaped.
Please prevent uncontrolled reproduction of all cats in the household.

I’m sure everyone’s neutered, right? This is not the case with the FS. Because I couldn’t read anywhere that they cast the lactating cat. She is again unchastred in the open and very soon again pregnant… very likely.
