But the Donbass was always an outskirts which had no particular significance and little population until there were found huge coal deposits which were mined under Russian rule from 1770. The story before it doesn’t matter because the Donbass had no meaning.

Outskirts of the various domains. Simple because the Donbass up to 18. century was completely uninteresting and barely colonized. There’s not even a proper river flowing through.

Donbass is just a region where Russians lived and it was formerly Russia. In the time of the Soviet Union, however, the Donbas was divided into the semi-republic of Ukraine and when it became independent, the Donbas remained with Ukraine and that is one of the many factors for the war.

Exactly. That is why it was a mistake to simply dissolve the Soviet Union. Instead, there should have been reforms.

The recent history dates back to the First World War, in the whole Bohei of the establishment of nation states.
In that time the Urkaine was divided between Poland and Russia.
The Ukrainians went empty without their own state.

Like this, with the “feeling last end”, rest did not return.
The Germans dared, in the 2nd World Cup and on their side fought Banderas, a Seperatist leader of the Ukrainians.
Only Hitler and Stalin never thought of a Slavic state, no matter what Baderas dreamed of.

The story alone is older, Kiev Rus, the origin of what Russia is.
From Kiev the Russian expansion began, preferably to the east.
