in principle always when the danger exists that air is coming into the system or is coming. i.e. after a change of the brake caliper, brake cylinder, main brake cylinder or reperatures on the brake line. or just when the brake fluid is renewed, which should be done about every 2 years. in the latter, however, the brake is ventilated by itself or the venting of the brake is already integrated into the work process.

  1. If you notice the brake is pumping.
  2. When air gets into the system.

Just do yourself if you really know what you’re doing.

What do I know is air in there? And is it true that the brakes must be vented every time they are engaged in the hydraulics?

Read the post of WECojote.

You see that when the braking point changes.

It depends on the procedure.

Your questions suggest that.

Did I say I wanted to do it?

Yes

Like I said, if you don’t know about it, you better leave it to the professionals.

Brake lines or brake fluid containers change for example.

When the brake circuit has been opened, for example when changing the brake hoses or brake calipers. Then the system must be vented.

The brake fluid is changed routinely every 2 years or even every one.
