Active —-> A person is at the forefront

Example: The Krampus beats the children with the rod.

Passive —-> The action/the action is in the foreground:

The children are beaten by the cramp.

Isn’t the best example but well

When active, the one who does something is at the center of attention, e.g. I read a book.

In the passive, what has happened, that is, the action/the action, is at the centre and often the one who does not know it, that is, for example, the book is read (from me).

I wish you good luck for the exam 🍀

Active – is when I do something myself: I just write this text here.

Passive then is what happens to the text: it is written by me.
