Loose connection monitor?

Good morning,

I asked this question before: I've been banging on my screen every now and then over the last few weeks when I was feeling a bit impulsive, haha, but it didn't damage the screen. Until I noticed that it suddenly just turns off. I have to push the power cable on the monitor towards me in a strange way to turn it back on. It makes a strange crackling noise. Once it's on, everything's fine, but I'm worried that it might catch fire if I spend time on it like usual.

I replaced the cable, and it cracked briefly when I plugged it in. Now everything's back to normal, and I don't have to bend the cable in any weird ways, and the monitor doesn't just turn off anymore. Could the socket still be damaged, or would you say everything's fine?

Es gibt prinzipiell 2 Möglichkeiten bei diesem Problem.

  1. Die Kontakte der Kaltgeräte-Kupplung waren ausgeleiert/verbogen, sodass hier kein zuverlässiger Kontakt mehr herrschte.
  2. Die Löstellen des Einbausteckers im Monitor auf der Platine selbst sind lose oder im Einbaustecker ist was kaputt.

Da es jetzt wieder funktioniert, klingt das nach Fall 1.

Allerdings habe ich bei einem Monitor ein ähnliches Problem (nur ohne den Teil mit dem “Impulsiv” werden…), da konnte ein neues Kabel das Problem zwar beheben, ich habe aber dennoch mal das Gehäuse abgenommen und konnte durch das vernietete Blechgehäuse sehen, dass sich beim Bewegen der Kupplung kleine Lichtbögen auf der Platine gebildet haben, also Fall 2.

Ich würde das mal beobachten.
Eventuell ist es keine schlechte Idee, den Monitor bei Abwesenheit abzustecken oder einen zweipoligen Schalter dazwischen zu stecken.
Spart auch Stromkosten durch Stand-By-Verlust. 🙂

Ob es in Zukunft nochmal “knistert”, besonders warm wird (im Bereich des Netzanschlusses stärker als gewöhnlich) oder gar komisch riecht.

Guten Tag,

Das Knacken ist anfangs normal, wenn Strom daraufkommt. Ich würde den Monitor jetzt einfach ein paar Tage beobachten.

Ich empfehle dir aber in Zukunft dich einfach unter Kontrolle zu halten , ansonsten kannst du parallel schonmal nach nem neuen Monitor Ausschau halten 😉
